The United Steelworkers Des Moines Next Generation is proud to present Solidarity for Soldiers. This is a local charity designed to help soldiers in need. There are hundreds of soldiers in our area that after serving our country have found themselves homeless, or near homeless. Many of these brave men and women struggle from a number of ailments and need a helping hand to get back on their feet. We have partnered with Veterans Affairs, and The Homeless Veterans Stand Down to help these veterans get the supplies they need. This charity is a union initiative, and a great opportunity for labor to show their support and appreciation to some of our veterans who are most vulnerable. You can donate items at local 310 hall, or make a cash donation to the Next Generation committee. We will be collecting donated items from now until Labor Day. We will also be collecting at the Labor Park on Labor Day, and Labor Jam. If there are items on the list on the back that you would like to donate please bring them to one of these locations. Thank you for your support.   Read more >>>
